Solana Token Creator

From 0.2 SOL · Raydium-ready 0.3 SOL (freeze revoked)

An SPL mint is Solana's standard fungible token — name, logo, and supply you own, with no MoonSol authority left on the mint. From 0.2 SOL, or 0.3 SOL Raydium-ready with freeze revoked. Decimals are final. Test on devnet for free, then open your own pool when you want it tradable.

Supply is minted to this wallet. MoonSol keeps no authority. Freeze revoke is what Raydium checks before a pool.

What you get

Every token created here is an ordinary SPL mint — the same asset type the Solana CLI produces — so it works in every wallet, DEX, explorer, and aggregator on the network.

  • An SPL mint with the full supply delivered to your wallet.
  • Metaplex token metadata, so wallets and explorers show your name, symbol, and logo instead of an unnamed address.
  • Your logo and metadata JSON pinned to IPFS, which keeps them available without depending on your own hosting.
  • Optional revocation of mint and freeze authority in the same transaction flow, so the trust signals buyers check on Solscan are live from the start.
  • Optional creator info with website and social links written into the token metadata.
  • Optional generated website hosted on IPFS with your branding and token data.

Fees

MoonSol platform fees. Solana network and rent fees are separate and typically total 0.01–0.02 SOL.

How to create an SPL token

  1. Connect a Solana wallet

Connect Phantom, Solflare, or Trust Wallet. MoonSol is non-custodial: you sign every transaction yourself and your private key never leaves your wallet.

  2. Enter the token details

Set the name, symbol, decimals, and total supply, and upload a logo. The logo and metadata JSON are pinned to IPFS so wallets and explorers can display them.

  3. Choose your optional features

Decide whether to revoke mint and freeze authority, add custom creator info and social links, or generate a website. Each option shows its fee before you commit.

  4. Test on devnet for free

Switch the network selector to devnet and run the exact same flow at no platform fee. This is the cheapest way to confirm your decimals and supply are what you intended.

  5. Deploy on mainnet

Switch to mainnet, review the fee summary, and approve the transaction. The mint is created and confirmed within seconds and appears immediately on Solscan.

Choosing your token settings

Decimals

Decimals set the smallest tradable fraction of your token. Nine matches SOL and is the Solana default; six is typical for stablecoin-style tokens; zero makes the token indivisible. This value is written into the mint and can never be changed, so it is the one field worth double-checking on devnet first.

Supply

Total supply is cosmetic rather than economic: a billion tokens at a low unit price and a million at a higher one describe the same market capitalisation. What matters is that the number is easy for holders to reason about, and that you decide it before revoking mint authority, because that revocation makes it permanent.

Mint and freeze authority

Mint authority is the address allowed to create new supply; freeze authority is the address allowed to freeze holder accounts. Both default to your wallet. Revoking freeze authority is effectively mandatory if you plan to list on Raydium, and revoking mint authority is what lets holders verify the supply cannot grow. Keep mint authority only if your model needs future emissions — and if you do, move it to a multisig with the transfer authority tool rather than leaving it on a hot wallet.

Metadata mutability

Mutable metadata lets you fix a typo or replace a logo later through the update metadata tool. Immutable metadata is a stronger trust signal but permanent — get the branding right before you lock it.

Test on devnet before you spend real SOL

Devnet is a full copy of Solana with free SOL from a faucet. Running your exact configuration there first costs nothing and catches the mistakes that are expensive on mainnet: a decimal place in the wrong position, a supply that is a factor of a thousand off, or a logo that renders badly at wallet size. Switch the network selector above to devnet, deploy, inspect the result on Solscan's devnet explorer, then repeat on mainnet once it looks right.

After you launch

Creating the mint is the first step. To make the token tradable you need a liquidity pool; to distribute it you need an airdrop tool; and to manage authorities or metadata afterwards you need the owner dashboard. All of it is on MoonSol:

Solana token creator FAQ

01How much does it cost to create a Solana token?

The base fee is 0.2 SOL, currently discounted from 0.4 SOL. Optional extras are 0.1 SOL each to revoke freeze authority, revoke mint authority, or add custom creator info, and 0.4 SOL for website generation. Solana network and rent fees add roughly 0.01–0.02 SOL. Devnet and testnet deployments have no platform fee.

02Do I need to know how to code?

No. Creating an SPL token with the Solana CLI means installing the toolchain, funding a keypair, and running spl-token and Metaplex commands by hand. This generator does the same on-chain work from a form and one wallet signature.

03How many decimals should my token have?

Nine is the Solana convention and matches SOL itself. Six is common for stablecoin-style tokens. Zero makes tokens indivisible, which suits tickets or collectible-style supply. Decimals cannot be changed after the mint is created, so decide before you deploy.

04What supply should I choose?

Supply is a presentation choice, not an economic one — one billion tokens at a low unit price and one million at a higher price are worth the same in aggregate. Pick a number your community can reason about, and remember it is fixed once you revoke mint authority.

05Should I revoke mint and freeze authority?

Revoke freeze authority if you want to create a Raydium liquidity pool, because Raydium refuses mints that can still freeze accounts. Revoke mint authority if the supply is meant to be fixed. If you genuinely need future minting, transfer mint authority to a multisig rather than keeping it on a hot wallet.

06Do I own the token after creation?

Yes. The full supply is minted to your wallet and any authorities you keep are held by your address. MoonSol retains no authority over your mint and takes no share of trading.

07Can I change the name or logo later?

Yes, as long as you did not make the metadata immutable. Use the update metadata tool to change name, symbol, description, logo, and social links via Metaplex.

08Is the token a real SPL token or a wrapper?

It is a standard SPL mint with Metaplex metadata — the same asset type the CLI produces. Every wallet, DEX, explorer, and aggregator on Solana treats it identically to any other SPL token.

09What is Token-2022 and do I need it?

Token-2022 is the newer SPL token program with extensions such as transfer fees and non-transferable tokens. Use it only if you need one of those behaviours: some older integrations still support only the classic token program.
