Update Metadata

Update token name, symbol, logo, and links on IPFS.

Connect your Solana wallet to use this tool.

What the update metadata tool does

Token metadata is what wallets, explorers, and DEX interfaces actually display: name, symbol, logo, description, and links. This tool rewrites the Metaplex metadata account for your mint and pins new images to IPFS, so a wrong ticker or a placeholder logo is fixable.

  • Updates the Metaplex token metadata account, which is the source wallets and explorers read — not the mint account itself.
  • New logos and JSON metadata are pinned to IPFS, so they stay available without depending on your own hosting.
  • You can add or correct website, Twitter, and Telegram links, which is what most projects come here to fix after launch.
  • Requires that you still hold update authority and that the metadata was not made immutable at creation.
  • Wallets and aggregators cache aggressively, so expect minutes to a few hours before the new logo shows everywhere.

How to use the Solana update metadata tool

  1. Select your token

Choose a mint whose update authority is held by your connected wallet.

  2. Edit the fields

Update name, symbol, description, and social links, and upload a new logo if needed. Square PNGs around 512×512 render best across wallets.

  3. Confirm the update

Approve the transaction. The new metadata URI is written on-chain and the assets are pinned to IPFS.

Update Metadata FAQ

01Why is my old logo still showing?

Caching. The on-chain metadata updates immediately, but wallets, explorers, and chart sites refresh their own caches on their own schedule — usually minutes, sometimes a few hours.

02Can I change the name and symbol after launch?

Yes, as long as metadata is still mutable and you hold update authority. Bear in mind that holders and listing sites recognise your token by ticker, so renames cause confusion.

03What if I made my metadata immutable?

Then it cannot be changed by anyone, which is the point of immutability. The only path to different metadata is a new mint and a holder migration.

04Does updating metadata change my mint address?

No. The mint address, supply, and holders are untouched. Only the display information changes.
