Freeze Address

Deny list management

Fee: 0.1 SUI (mainnet)

Connect your Sui wallet to use this tool.

What the freeze address tool does

Sui's regulated coin standard supports a deny list: named addresses can be blocked from transacting your coin. It requires a DenyCap from a regulated deployment and exists for compliance-driven tokens rather than open community coins.

  • Blocks or unblocks a single address at a time, leaving other holders unaffected.
  • Only available for coins published as regulated coins with a DenyCap.
  • Reversible — removing an address restores its ability to transact.
  • Deny-list changes are public transactions and read as centralised control.
  • Intended for compliance use cases; open community coins normally avoid it.

How to use the Sui freeze address tool

  1. Connect the DenyCap owner

Connect the wallet holding the DenyCap for your regulated coin.

  2. Enter the address

Provide the address to add or remove, and verify it carefully.

  3. Confirm

Approve the transaction to apply the change.

Freeze Address FAQ

01Why does the deny list not work for my coin?

Your coin was not published as a regulated coin, so no DenyCap exists. That capability has to be created at publication and cannot be added later.

02Should my coin be a regulated coin?

Only if you have a compliance requirement to block specific addresses. The deny list is a centralisation signal that community-focused projects generally choose to avoid.

03Does a deny list freeze existing balances?

It blocks the address from transacting. The balance still exists in the account but cannot be moved while the address is denied.
