Revoke Authority

Burn treasury cap

Fee: 0.1 SUI (mainnet)

Connect your Sui wallet to use this tool.

What the revoke authority tool does

Destroying the TreasuryCap permanently removes the ability to mint your Sui coin. Because minting authority is an object rather than a stored address, deleting the object is what makes supply provably fixed — and, like every other chain's equivalent, it cannot be undone.

  • Deletes the TreasuryCap object, so no address can ever mint your coin again.
  • Supply becomes provably fixed and anyone can verify the cap no longer exists.
  • Existing holder balances are completely unaffected.
  • Irreversible — there is no way to recreate the capability for an already-published coin type.
  • Mint everything you intend to exist before doing this.

How to use the Sui revoke authority tool

  1. Mint your full supply first

Once the cap is gone no further minting is possible, so complete all intended minting beforehand.

  2. Connect the owning wallet

Connect the wallet holding the TreasuryCap.

  3. Burn the cap

Confirm the transaction. The capability object is deleted permanently.

Revoke Authority FAQ

01How is this different from revoking mint authority on Solana?

The effect is the same — fixed supply, forever. The mechanism differs: Solana sets the mint authority field to null, while Sui deletes the capability object that granted the right.

02Does burning the cap burn my coins?

No. Every holder balance, including yours, is untouched. Only the ability to create more is destroyed.

03Can I still burn coins afterwards?

Holders can always burn their own balances. What is gone is the privileged mint-and-burn capability that the TreasuryCap granted.
