Transfer treasury cap

Fee: 0.1 SUI (mainnet)

Connect your Sui wallet to use this tool.

What the transfer authority tool does

On Sui the right to mint a coin is an object: the TreasuryCap. Whoever owns that object can mint and burn. Transferring it hands minting rights to another address — typically a team multisig — while the coin type and every holder balance stay unchanged.

  • The TreasuryCap is an owned object, so transferring it is an ordinary object transfer.
  • The recipient gains the ability to mint and burn your coin; you lose it.
  • The coin type, published package, and holder balances are untouched.
  • A multisig recipient removes the single-key risk over your coin's supply.
  • Only the current owner can transfer, and the transfer cannot be undone from your side.

Transfer Authority FAQ

01What is a TreasuryCap?

A capability object created when a Sui coin is published. Holding it is what authorises minting and burning — Sui expresses permissions as objects you own rather than as an address stored in a contract.

02Can I get the cap back?

Only if the new owner sends it back. From your side the transfer is final.

03Does transferring it change my coin?

No. Supply, holders, metadata, and the coin type are all unaffected. Only the owner of the minting capability changes.
